Why Jennifer is so special to Tori

Jennifer makes me feel good all the time. She is caring, witty, funny, and strong. Jennifer will make an excellent mother because she knows just what to say and do to make others feel at peace. She has the natural ability to provide the encouragement and love that children need as they grow. Jennifer gives of herself endlessly and has chosen a profession that allows her to advocate for children. There will be no greater gift than being able to watch Jennifer hold and love our child.

 

My childhood

I have a twin sister and younger brother. My sister, Jane, & I have always been close. She was and is one of my best friends. My brother, David, is three and a half years younger than Jane and me.

I grew up in a small town in Kansas. We went to church, my sister & I were in the Girl Scouts, we had great teachers in elementary school, our house was the one in the neighborhood where all the kids congregated because we had "the cool mom." My parents and grandparents were always supportive and encouraging. They came to our basketball games, track and cross country meets, band concerts, school programs, etc. 

They taught us manners and expected us to use them and to respect others. They set boundaries because they knew children need boundaries. But they never limited us in terms of what we could achieve. Humor & laughter were a big part of our family. My Granddad was the funniest person I have ever met. He enjoyed telling a good story and making everyone laugh. He passed that along to my mother and to my siblings and me.

 

My career

I knew from an early age I wanted to go to law school. As an Assistant District Attorney, my job is to seek justice for victims of crime. I have specialized in Crimes Against Children. Advocating on behalf of children is the most fulfilling and rewarding work I have ever done. When we have our child, it is our hope that I will be able to be a stay-at-home mom. I am looking forward to taking our child to story hour at the local bookstore, music lessons or soccer practice, and to the park to blow bubbles.
